MB: Relic SecretSquirrel - D, BallistiC - mid, Apoc KingKilla - O
HTW: wretchy grifter joe - D, durron mafic - O

As I stated in my prediction, HTW needed it's top five to show in order to have a shot against a very tough MB squad. Sadly for HTW, their two offensive powerhouses, imperium and snakey, did not show up. Despite this fact, NovCE was a lot closer than I expected, given the lineups. The map was kept close for the first half. KingKilla makes a grab and begins to exit, when wretchy drops from the server. KK makes a nice piston jump over the sub, to enter his base nicely covered at his door by Relic. HTW had no chance of a return 4v5, and KK caps to put MB up 1-0. Wretchy was gone for a good minute or so, and at one point MB had 6 players in the server, but only for about 5 seconds. After correcting this error wretchy returns and things get back to normal. Durron was obviously fed up with the 4v5 cap, and basically runs a flag right down the throats of MB in perhaps one of the nicest NovCE runs I've seen in a while. He makes it into his base by the skin of his teeth while MB frantically scrambles to stop him, but durron shows some fancy footwork managing to cap to tie the game at 1-1. So we go into overtime. But once again, MB would prove to be too much for the HTW defense, as KK makes another nice run, covered well by Apoc. He makes it to his front entrance, but dies at the bottom of his steps. SecretSquirrel comes out of nowhere however to take out the two HTW guys and make the pickup. Relic gets up a nice Multi Kill at his doorway spamming combos, while SS runs up to his flag room, capping to win 2-1 in OT.

MVP:
Despite the loss, I have to give the MVP here to durron. He almost singlehandedly accounted for HTW's only cap of the game, fighting tooth and nail to get the flag home.

Lavagiant
MB: Relic Cloud9 - D, BallistiC - mid, GA (SecretSquirrel subs for GA in second half) KingKilla - O
HTW: wretchy grifter FatTony - D, durron mafic (Imperium subs for mafic in second half) - O

As I said in my prediction, durron is a one man wrecking ball on this map, but he has to have support to get the flag over the looooong haul back to his base, and against the three man defensive front of Relic, C9, and Balls, this task would prove too much for durron to do alone. The big suprise in this map though was KingKilla. He displayed a rather diverse arsenal of PBJ's from all different locations, making numerous varied runs and constantly keeping the HTW defense on their toes. MB took the lead early in this map on a nice run by KK pbji'in his way home. He was well covered by his teammates, barely capping with about 25 health left. durron was very persistant on O, using many PBJ's as well, but constantly getting taken down at mid by a swarming MB defense. All the while KK was continuing to get out on the HTW defense, who just couldn't seem to keep the flag at home against a coordinated MB offense. KK would eventually cap another flag from one of his Kraft Macaroni and Cheese runs. SecretSquirrel then comes in for GA, and brings a flag of his own home, dying short of his base, but Balls picks it up to cap, as MB takes this map 3-0.

MVP:
MVP of this map goes to KingKilla. He suprised a lot of people with his knowledge of cheese in this map, making some really impressive and creative runs. Relic also deserves a nod for his solid defense against one of the best flag runners in the game.

In the end, HTW didn't have the depth to win this matchup, as two of their top players didn't show. Imperium showed up late in lavagiant, but it would prove too little too late, as MB already had a 1 cap lead and was severely entrenched on defense.
