Ok, new and strange developments in this match, I blame myself for not being here and for trusting the word of a captain without confirming the information with the other team, something I always do. Here is what happened as far as I know:
1. MLUT 9 Champs picked GrendelKeep and Untouchables picked Dagobah. Cooltown, banned from all [Z] servers and on MLUT 9 Champs, cannot get in the server.
2. Untouchables refuses to pick another server and decides apparently to award themselves a forfeit.
3. The second map, Bollwerk, is played on MLUT 9 Champs's server and the Untouchables win 4-1.
Eosophobia, the captain of The Untouchables, wasn't here and I'm sure Armenian is the reason this confusion went down this way. So let me stress this again: CHOOSE YOUR CO-CAPTAIN CAREFULLY. Under no circumstances can a team decide on their own that a map is forfeited in their favor, especially for such a pathetic reason as a player on the other team being banned from a server. The fact that an eligible MLUT player was banned from an MLUT match server immediately renders that server illegal until his ban is removed. I'm certain MooSe would have to get the match played if he had been around at the time, but just because he wasn't Untouchables cannot just declare themselves the winner and take off. However, I blame myself as much as anyone else in this decision as no admin was available for this match, a problem we hope will never repeat itself.
Nevertheless, MLUT 9 Champs will not be punished for a circumstance they couldn't possibly foresee or control, because Cooltown is not banned from MLUT and who would expect him to be banned from a server used for MLUT matches? Therefore since Untouchables left with no warning they forfeit the first map of this match. I'm going to put up a vote to see if other admins wish to overturn my decision and force a reschedule for the first map, but until then I'm going to stand by this decision and simply say let this be a lesson to people like Armenian who think they can decide who wins by picking an ineligible server.
[UPDATE] After a vote, the admins decided to reschedule the second map. Ironically, it ended up a forfeit anyway, so I don't know what happened. |
