Both teams were lacking their top dawgs in this match, with mintek not surprisingly MIA for the match, and abs decides to show up without UT installed. Go figure? Anyways, it turned out to be a pretty solid match. Heroes fell behind early, but ended up getting solid control of the powerups after a few minutes. The battle was back and forth at top and in the pit, but in the end the difference maker was the hitmanimal. He took most of the amps and put them to great use every time, ending the map with 20 more frags than anyone else and a solid 67% efficiency.
Frantic turned out to be another exciting map, with some really raging battles taking place in the belt room. I recall all eight players fighting for control of the belt room at one point. The map was neck-and-neck with control of powerups shifting back and forth, until BigBoy decided that ig was more important than TDM and bailed on his team. At that point, Heroes obviously took control of the map and took the easy victory. It really was a shame that BB decided to leave his team hanging like that, as it was a great game until he left. Kudos to the rest of noc's team for a great fight despite being a man down. I expect them to do very well the rest of the season with strong performances from Smackem and Noc.
MVP: hitman - for totally dominating Deck, controlling belt/amp and fragging everything in sight. Xanatos deserves an honorable mention for great performances on both maps ranked at a bargain bin price of $123. |
