Seraphim was a really amazing map. Lots of lead changes, and some hilariously bad powerup management by both teams. I think at one point belt was up for 7 minutes without being taken and amp for 4 minutes. The end was extremely close with soli taking the lead for his team with seconds remaining, only to be fragged and then killed upon respawn to lose by a frag. :(
Nitro was another back and forth game. The four got good spawns and picked up the first powerups, which led to a bad start for pussy kats. However, soli led his team back into the lead by regaining the powerups. There were some hilarious missed pistons to belt on this one too. In the end, soli just didn't have enough support and the difference maker was Guybrush. DV and unk put on solid performances, but Guy has proven to be the missing link for the possibly fantastic four.
Overall, this was an amazing match to watch between two solid teams duking it out for a shot at the playoffs. Seraphim was one of the most exciting maps I've seen thus-far this season, despite the hilarious lack of powerup useage, and Nitro was nearly as exciting.
MVP: Guybrush for giving the fantastic four a viable fourth, some nice powerup management, and a chance to make playoffs with this win. Huge honorable mention to solidus for another amazing performance in a losing effort. :\ |
