CTF-Gauntlet
This map started off with Team x3 jumping out to an early lead. The map was pretty back and forth, but surprisingly low scoring for a Gauntlet game. x3 had the lead with about 4 minutes remaining, but eventually DC mustered enough energy to tie it up and then take the lead. Team x3 pushed really hard to get that tying cap but some very smart play by stack prevented it and ended up giving Da Choppa a buffer cap.
MVP: stack for his great performance on offense, racking up four captures and two assists. Honorable mention goes out to dv for a solid performance on defense with very little notice and hardly any CTF experience.
CTF-Terra-LE102
Terra was another marathon. For pretty much the entire 20 minute regulation, neither team was able to crack the other's defense. In fact, I don't think anyone got the flag out at all except DC who got the flag into their base once. However, some nice teamwork and stalling from Team x3 prevented the cap as Met got the return. Eventually, about 8 minutes into overtime, khz made a nice run to middle with some cover from stack. Xebo pushed up to the enemy front door and got an amazing pickup on the bottom of their ramp. He then made a wicked dodge combo off the terra ramp to belt area, getting the double kill and successfully clearing himself a path to his base as his teammates rushed to their front so seal the base. Xebo ran in for the cap and that was the game.
MVP: xebo for his rock solid defense and crucial push-up in overtime to get his team the win.
