Shenanigans vs. Chippendales

MLUT:TDM Round 1

There was a lot of hype concerning this matup. Both of these teams are ones that I personally could see going a long ways in the tourney and I knew this would be a great matchup, especially for round 1. Unfortunately, there were some problems right from the start. First of all, a key player from Shenanigans?!?!, ense, didn't show up. Also, the teams couldn't decide on a server to use. Shenanigans?!?! wanted to use the Dioscuri Server in Chicago and Chippendales wanted to use the Kast server in St. Louis. Cooltown had the worst ping on both servers but seemed to like the dio server more. It was decided by me to have them play the first map on the kast server and the second on the dio server to be fair. Both servers had a very close overall team ping so I found this to be the best solution at the time.

Deck16

Server: Kast's St. Louis Server

The match out to a quick start for Chippendales. Omen was the first to grab the amp and helped put them up to an 8-0 lead early with three amp kills. Asmodia had a quick start for Chippendales. Shenanigans?!?! wasn't just going to sit around for long though. Double_J lead there charge and helped tie the game up at 12 a piece.

The game remained very close for a long time. Shenanigans?!?! showed some signs of player dispute about 4 minutes into the game however. Cooltown still had 0 points. He had 1 frag but one teamkill/suicide i believe and Titan called him out, asking him what his problem was. Cooltown answered him by finally getting rollin and jumped out ahead of of Titan in terms of efficiency for the remainder of the game.

The match continued to stay close for most of the game. Double_J was leading his team and Omen for his team. Omen and BrutZilla had control of most of the amps, which I think was a key factor in the game. With about 6 and half minutes remaining, Shenanigans?!?! got their change for a pullahead. The score was tied at 71 and Vapor dropped for some reason. There was about 1 minute before Max_Q was able to hop in for Chippendales, however the managed to get a 3 point lead at this point instead of falling behind.

Max did a great job of coming in cold during and played well. The last few minutes of the game were all Chippendales. They managed to pull ahead by 15 points in about 5 minutes when it had been close the whole time. They had a 2 good amp runs by Brutzilla and Omen which were important. Vision and Cooltown dropped from above 50% efficiency to just below during this time of the match, leaving DJ as the only one with over 50. Very intense game!

Map MVP: Omen for his many good amp runs and consistent efficiency throught the whole game.

Server: Dioscuri's Chicago server

Another great start to this one. Chippendales is lead by Asmodia early on and Shenanigans by Double_J and Cooltown. Double_J was doing his thing most of this map...that being timing, usually the belt. Asmodia had quite a few good amp runs, noting one that came 4 minutes into the game that got him 5 quick frags and put his team in the lead. Shenanigans?!?! closed it back up and the game was tied up at 32-32. This is when the problems begin...

Max_Q starts to lag really bad. I mean BAD. He spent the next few minutes reconnecting, bitching, and most of all...getting fragged(mostly by Double_J...hahah). I felt bad for ya max, but there was nothing I could do for ya. You were the only one having problems at that point and I think you realized that later on. Finally after dying 13 times and his team falling behind 72-53, Brutzilla comes in to replace him.

There was just less than 10 minutes remaining when he came in for Chippendales. About this time, Cooltown starts having some ping issues as well. His however, only spiked to about 400 (not like max's 1600) and he didn't get fragged nearly as much, since he disconnected alot and still moved around. I have to give Chippendales extreme props for the comeback that they were able to mount. The were able to close the game up to within 1 point at the end. Really just makes ya wonder what would've happened had max left earlier.

Two things I would like to point out. For anyone watching the demo, be sure to watch Asmodia try to grab the amp when there's about 2:30 seconds remaining...until about 1:55 seconds remaining! LOL People on uTV really liked that one. Also:

Map MVP: Asmodia for holding everything together for his team despite the fact they couldn't quite come back.

Pressure

Server: Kast's St. Louis Server

Couldn't ask for a closer game for the tiebreaker. Nice thing about this one is that it wasn't plagued by ping or connection issues. This one opened up with Shenanigans getting off to the better start.

I would like to now point out why I feel that Shenanigans won this match. Two players: Vision and Cooltown. The pic shows that both players made sure to keep their efficiency high. Cooltown has very few frags but still hasn't died. That's the best way to play this map in my opinion, be defensive. Vision had an outstanding game also. His got a lot of frags because he had the right mindset and played smart.

The early stages of this match were pretty even, with Shenanigans usually enjoying a 5-10 point lead. Chippendales came closest to tying it up when the score was 52-51. Right around this time, Vision blew up! He got the amp and went on a spree, getting 6 kills with it I believe. By the time his amp run was done, his team was up by 14 points. Thats pretty much what won it for em. Chippendales was able to close it back, mostly throught the help of Max, but in the end they just ran out of time. Really great game guys!

Map MVP: Vision for clinching the game with a great amp run at a cruial time and having the best efficiency.
